The Sweet Spot has tried recently to make a nice air conditioned decorated enclosed restaurant in addition to its outside seating. It's nice by Fairfield standards but still mediocre.
The girls that served me weren't that bad but not especially friendly either, just normal service.
I had a small root beer float and it was delicious, wish I had gotten a large. I look forward to trying other ice cream creations here. -

Gross. Plus, they acted like it was insane to ask for onions, tomato, mustard or anything on a sandwich.
A small ice cream is as big as your head. Is that a selling point? What a waste. -

Nice place for a variety of soft serve ice cream treats. Friendly service. I had the hot fudge which was only ice cream and fudge. I should have asked about toppings as it was a little nakid without them.

So there are multiple things wrong with this place. First off I would NOT go there for ice cream. This restaurant is called "The Sweet Spot" and they advertise "ice cream". When I went in there and asked how many flavors they had; there were two, vanilla and chocolate. How do you call the restaurant what you do and only have two flavors of soft serve ice cream? I don't get it. Second- it seemed like a bunch of teenagers were running the place and even though they were nice it looked like a hangout place for teens (these were the staff members).
Anyway...I would go elsewhere. -

As a former high school employee of a local ice cream/food shop, I am completely aware of how under trained employees can be in regards to customer service. That's just part of the business. However, the experience I had today will be my first, and LAST visit to this establishment
I was ordering $50 worth of food for my team (which is slightly ridiculous given the lack of options, but I can look past that). When I went to pay, the young lady was unable to process my debit card as the phone line was tied up (still understandable). As customers started "flooding" I told her to just hold my card, and when she could, run my card through.
Regardless of 8 witnesses; she magically no longer had possession of my card, and had no desire to look. After multiple requests to look.
End result-the store manager was contacted, and she reached out to me regarding my concern. That's the only reason I increased my rating to two stars. However, she continued to defend her staff (and no, I don't at all feel as though they had maliciously lost it), and I still without resolution.
Debit cards are absolutely replaceable, but It's the principal of the situation and attitude that I was up against. Sadly, I know that when they DO find my card-the immaturity of the staff will never prompt them to swallow their pride and call me.
Again, I DO have higher standards based on my 8+ years working a similar setup. The establishment I worked at had FRIED food, and about 10x the options, half of the staff, and order volume was substantially higher. They're really isn't an excuse for their actions.
